According to Demian Dobry, Head of the Economic and Commercial Section at the Embassy of the Argentine Republic to Kenya, Argentine composite genetics—specifically Brangus and Braford—perform very well in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa by combining high meat quality with strong heat and parasite resistance.

Brangus (Angus × Brahman) Combines the high fertility and excellent carcass quality of Angus with the heat and tick tolerance of the Brahman. These animals handle high temperatures and humidity in African ranches well without losing significant growth rates.

Braford (Hereford × Brahman) Blends the superior mothering ability and tenderness of the Hereford with the hardiness of Zebu cattle. They adapt easily to extensive grazing systems and poor-quality tropical forage.
