Community mobilization on FMD vaccinations, all stakeholders must participate.

Mobilizing communities and farmers  against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) involves grassroots awareness, strict biosecurity, and coordinated vaccination drives, acknowledges Director Veterinary Services Kenya Dr. Allan Azengele in a presser to livestock stakeholders and producers.

The editor "The Livestock Site Magazine" Henry Kioko takes up public awareness campaigns to educate pastoralists and farmers on early signs of FMD.

Makueni county accelerates FMD vaccinations.

The DVS discloses early signs as excessive salivation, blisters, and lameness—emphasizing that prompt reporting stops outbreaks from escalating.

Henry points out that to build trust between local communities and veterinary services, there should be transparent communication, offering feedback channels, and addressing the economic impacts of movement restrictions.
