TANZANIA REGAINS ACCESS TO QATAR'S MEAT MARKET

Tanzania has announced the reopening of the Qatar market for 𝐬𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐭 , following restrictions linked to Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD).

This is more than an export announcement. It highlights the growing opportunities for African livestock producers who can meet international requirements for:

  • Animal health and disease control
  • Traceability and certification
  • Export-standard slaughter and processing
  • Reliable cold-chain systems
  • Consistent supply and quality

The Gulf remains an important market for African meat, and developments such as this demonstrate why investment in livestock health systems, biosecurity and export infrastructure is critical.

For breeders, farmers and livestock investors across Africa, the message is clear: the future opportunity is not only in producing livestock β€” it is in building value chains capable of accessing premium international markets.
